Get Everything Planned Before Packing
Posted on 21/08/2014
When you are looking towards a large move, you will no doubt be a bit worried as to the nature of how things are going to go down. There are so many things that could go wrong and it is impossible to prepare for absolutely every eventuality, so how should you be preparing for your move to make sure that you don’t come up against too many difficulties? Well, planning well should put you in a great position to make sure that you don’t come across any issues during your move, whether you are doing a large scale move with a removals company, or a smaller job with a man and van service. We’ll take a look at a few of the ways in which you can make your move go well no matter the size.
Planning makes perfect, so you should be planning your move before you have even started packing. To begin with, you need to give yourself as much time as possible in which to plan your move. This means a month or so for a larger move, which may seem silly, but in fact will give you the foresight with which to make the move an easy one, as sufficient time in which to get things done will be a god send when it comes to the final stages of the move. If you do not give yourself enough time to get things done then you may well find that you do not have enough time to make the right decisions and are just rushing in to things in order to get them sorted as soon as possible. This will obviously lead to things going wrong, and will prevent you from making decisions based on quality or price, which will lead to upset in the near future.
Giving yourself the time with which to plan the move effectively will lead to you hopefully being able to note down everything that you need to get done and placing each item on a calendar or time table for the move, which will be a perfect way to get a look at the size of the job. This will hopefully reduce the amount of panic involved in the move, as you will be able to look at the time table and see exactly how much you have to get done each day, and you will never be in the dark as to what is yet to be done, which will reduce stress considerably. With this calendar for the move you will be able to give some thought to what you pack and when, as you will be able to see as to when each room will best suited to being packed up. For instance, the things that you hardly use in the garage will be best to pack up the earliest, whereas your pots and pans that are used every day should be packed up last, to stop your move getting in the way of your daily life.
The hope is that with the right planning, you will be able to develop a plan for the move which only involves a couple of hours of work every day, perhaps less, which will mean a stress free but effective moving schedule, which will give you every chance to investigate ways of doing things for cheap rather than spending all of your money on expensive methods for removals.
